My Journey to Thicker, Healthier Hair - Part 2

I so look forward to treatments each week. The appointment is approximately 1 hour and 20 mins weekly. I love the way I feel leaving the salon so naturally I can’t wait to go back again and do it all over the following week. Here is my customized process.

It’s crucial to understand that this treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all. My journey began with a consultation with Jen, who assessed the various factors contributing to my hair loss. Hair loss can stem from many causes: major surgery, illness, sudden blood loss, emotional stress, crash diets, medications (like retinoids, birth control pills, and certain antidepressants), hereditary factors, age, hormonal imbalances, and more.

Let’s take a deep dive into my treatment plan!

  • I start with a fabulous shampoo with Liz, followed by a tangle comb-out—thank you, Liz!

  • Jen applies Calecim serum directly to my scalp while microneedling to enhance absorption.

  • A mini scalp massage activates the serum.

  • I then relax under the salon’s red light for 20 minutes (at home, I skip the cap).

  • We’ve also introduced Dr. Brown’s Hair, Skin & Nail Vitamins and a Hair Growth Shampoo Additive, both available at Ginny’s Salon.

Calecim Serum

Infused with growth factors from cord lining stem cells, the Calecim Serum is key in my treatment plan. This serum is infused with a unique blend of growth factors derived from cord lining stem cells, promoting hair growth and overall scalp health. Jen applies it directly to my scalp; it’s lightweight and leaves no residue. I’m already noticing improvements in my hair texture, and the non-invasive nature of the treatment is a huge plus for me.

Red Light Cap Therapy

This innovative low-level laser therapy (LLLT) stimulates hair follicles, improves circulation, and enhances scalp metabolism. I wear the cap for about 10 minutes a day at home or I do a 20 min session at the salon and skip the at home treatment.

Microneedling

This technique uses fine needles to create micro-injuries on the scalp, stimulating natural healing and hair growth. Initially apprehensive, I found the procedure surprisingly painless and there is little to no scalp irritation. The sensation is more like gentle prickling.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how non-invasive and painless each treatment has been so far. There’s a common misconception that most hair loss treatments require harsh methods, but my experience has been quite the opposite. The gentle nature of these therapies allows me to go about my day without downtime. Each session feels like a step closer to my goals, and the supportive environment that Jen creates has made it all the more rewarding.

If you’re considering working with a trichologist or exploring treatments like Calecim serum, red light therapy, or microneedling, don’t even hesitate, book a consultation with Jen at Ginny’s Hair Salon. You’ll be on your way to thicker, healthier hair in no time!

Stay tuned for more updates on my journey to hair health!
